Bombay Talkies by DanceVersify – Presenting Om Shanti Om and The Lion King

Welcome to an evening of Indian dance spectacles, at DVaKriti 2019 – DanceVersify Academy’s 4th annual dancy company and student showcase! We will stage the following dance productions with a cast of 70+ performers, a plethora of colorful costumes and grand props! Opening : INVOCATION with INDIAN CLASSICAL – Witness a dance invocation piece using the ancient Indian classical dance styles of Bharatanatyam and Odissi 1st Half : THE LION KING – An unique rendition of the awe-inspiring tale of Simba & his friends. We promise to take you on a nostalgic journey through the African Safari, with Simba, Mufasa, Scar and the entire ensemble of characters, with fun Bollywood music and fusion choreographies, performed by the DanceVersify Juniors 2nd Half: BOMBAY TALKIES Featuring OM SHANTI OM – The second half of the show will stage the cinematic grandeur of Bollywood, bringing to stage a larger-than-life love story that transcend generations. Experience the dramatic tale of love, betrayal, rebirth, revenge and triumph, with choreography using graceful Indian classical, sassy HipHop and energetic Bollywood dance styles, performed by the locally born Indian dance company, the DanceVersify Ensemble. Witness the colors, diversity, grace and energy of varied Indian dance forms, from Classical to Bollywood to Folk and more! With a cast of 70+ performers, this show promises to take you on a cultural tour of the mystical India!
