Comedian Poundcake – 10 Hilarious Commandments

Demario “Comedian Poundcake” Hollowell is one of the hottest and most versatile comedians on the circuit today.

Poundcake, who grew up in the Raleigh neighborhood in Memphis, Tennessee, has been making people laugh his whole life. In school, he was able to make the entire class laugh including faculty and staff at his alma mater, Raleigh-Egypt High School. Although, he knew he was the wittiest of all. He never thought that he would one day make a living as a comedian.

The (3) time Best in Black Award recipient, in the categories of: “Best in Social Media | Overall Best Social Media Posts,” “Best Comedian,” and “Best in Social Media | Humorous Posts got his big break in comedy in 2013 doing funny videos portraying the characters of “Ne-Ne, Jeff, and Kesha” alongside his late mother Joyce who portrayed the role of “Ms. Jackson,” which immediately elevated him to a viral sensation. Later in life during a tumultuous time of losing his mother in 2020 and entering a global pandemic, Comedian Poundcake made triumph out of tragedy and created his world-renown “Step Into the LIVE” where he then became highly sought after, leading him to a fan requested in-person booking at Chuckles Comedy House where he SOLD OUT all four shows.  Comedian Poundcake became such a hot commodity that he received a plethora of requests to host shows and events from all spectrums.  He saturated the city so much with his gift of comedy that he received a Proclamation from the State of Tennessee and received recognition from Memphis-Shelby County Schools for continued success in his professional endeavors and support of MSCS.

For Comedian Poundcake, the challenge right now is staying connected to the absurdity of regular, day-to-day life while chasing his comedic dreams. He still feels there is still so much to talk about from his jobs, and his childhood; he even feels like he can mine that for many years to come, by making the world a better place through laughter.

Memphis Tennesseans sees wild potential in his unique ability to connect both with global comedy fans as well as audiences in his tristate area of Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi, for fast-rising comedian “Poundcake” thanks in large part to his positive, observational comedy and distinctive, relatable point of view with his “Step Into the LIVE” on Facebook “Prophet of Comedy” segments. That unique point of view will be center stage for his annual birthday comedy show. Tickets for the just-announced show are on sale now at ticketmaster.com.
