Walking in Memphis

On March 21st, 2018, support and sponsor Joshua Greer as he initiates the first ever ‘Walkin’ In Memphis’ event. Joshua will be walking all day on World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) to help celebrate and raise awareness for Down Syndrome! He will walk through the Memphis area formally stopping at 21 well-known Memphis attractions and sponsor locations, to take pictures with supporters and “raise” the global symbol for down syndrome, the butterfly, at each location. All proceeds will benefit the Down Syndrome Association of Memphis & the Mid south, so that it may expand in its mission to offer free social and educational events and services to families of Down syndrome children, their families, and those who are self-advocates.

Josh will start walking at the crack of dawn at the Big River Crossing bridge (the old bridge), with a final stop at the Peabody where there will be a surprise honorary duck master for the 5pm procession of ducks (come join us!). The fundraiser walk will end in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day with a candlelight vigil at Tom Lee Park, near Beale Street Landing. The public is invited to the vigil, which will begin at 6:00pm to watch the Harahan Bridge, also known as the Big River Crossing, get lit up in blue and yellow for World Down Syndrome Day for the first time ever!!! The final group picture of the day with the butterfly symbol will certainly be a memorable one, so come one and all! The more the merrier and be sure to wear your Walkin’ In Memphis for World Down Syndrome Day tshirts . If you would like to support Joshua, please donate, like and share his website/social media pages, come by one of the 21 official stops and root him on and join as at the public vigil at the end of the evening!

Joshua’s goal is to raise $21,000. It is an aggressive goal, but with your support he can achieve it! Any donation, no matter how large or small is greatly appreciated! If you would like to donate, please click on the donate button or donate via paypal @ paypal.me/WalkinInMem
