KWAM 75th Anniversary Party

Photography by Mark Ramirez

KWAM, The Mighty 990, celebrated 75 years on the airwaves with a big party at the Hyatt Centric. The rooftop setting was perfect on the unseasonably cool August evening. The station’s broadcast tower was visible just across the Mississippi River, and it was the perfect backdrop to celebrate the history of KWAM (which stands for “We Are Memphis”). With diverse programming such as Tim Van Horn’s Wake Up Memphis in the mornings, Todd Starnes nationally syndicated show, live coverage of Briarcrest Christian School football games, the Mid-South Gardening Show, and positive Memphis guests in the afternoons on the Earle Farrell 4Memphis Show, this station is a celebration of the Bluff City. Tune in at mighty990.com, and on the radio dial at 990 AM and 107.9 FM. Congratulations, Todd Starnes and KWAM!
