The University of Memphis women’s basketball Fastbreak Club hosted the eighth annual Heels & Hoops Gala. The Heels & Hoops Gala was created in 2010 by Gigi Wiertelak, Sandy Lenoir, and the late Barbara Bronze as a way to raise money for the Tigers women’s basketball program. In the eight years of existence, Heels & Hoops has raised over $300,000, and this evening alone raised over $90,000 in proceeds with more than 300 guests in attendance. The event featured live music by Donna Wolf, a special performance by the women’s basketball team, auctions, and dancing.
