ABOUT THE ARTIST: Anne Hughes Sayle has been a professional artist for more than 40 years. She holds an MFA in painting from the University of Memphis and a BFA in drawing and painting from the University of Georgia. Her works have been displayed across the nation in venues including museums, galleries, churches, government buildings, financial institutions, botanic gardens and more. Highlights from her career include being selected to create the poster for Memphis Arts in the Park; participating in Memphis City Schools’ Artists in the Schools program via the Memphis Arts Commission; and most recently, being invited to decorate one of the playhouses at Memphis Botanic Garden’s My Big Backyard. In addition to her artistic work, Anne has also served as an adjunct professor of art for multiple universities and has written four books of poetry. She and her husband reside in Lake Cormorant, Mississippi and have three children.
ABOUT THIS EXHIBIT: In the show at Trezevant, Anne will feature a collection of her oil on canvas works of realistic landscapes and figures, as well as several fabric art pieces. The works will hang in Trezevant Terrace’s Walkway through August 10, 2018.
