The Hen House Wine Bar, one of the coolest and newest establishments in East Memphis is like walking into a fashion magazine. The pops of colors, luscious fabrics, and gorgeous accessories envelop your senses. This provided the perfect setting for our early Spring fashion shoot.

Owner Michaela Dockery comes from a big family, she’s the oldest of eight kids. She says food, wine and togetherness has always happened over the table, and she loves to host friends and family! “I love to cook, make drinks, and pour wine. It’s what brings us together,” Michaela says.

The Hen House was inspired by Michaela’s love for entertaining as well as her travels with her husband Dr. Dee Dockery. “Every time we came home, we would say we wished we had a place that was upscale but relaxed, somewhere that you could go before or after your date. Why can’t we do what other large cities are doing?” So after talking about it for years, Michaela and Dee opened The Hen House Wine Bar unofficially on Michaela’s birthday, December 19th, 2020.

“When people come in, I want them to sit on couches, or at a table, or just their favorite spot where they always like to sit...and have birthdays, special occasions here. We want it to feel homey,” Michaela says. And very fashionable.
