The kids are back in school, and fall is upon us! Get ready for a gorgeous display of falling leaves, Halloween decorations, and – best of all – a flurry of upcoming events that will keep your family entertained while you support important nonprofits in Memphis. This issue, we’re covering some of the best upcoming events provided by nonprofits in September and October. Join these incredible organizations as they raise money and awareness for their causes.

Halo Golf Classic
Supporting Angel Street

Memphis Country Blues Festival

Taste of the District

Taste of the District is an annual tasting event that celebrates Medical District restaurants and strengthens connections among institutional partners, the unique food and beverage options available in the District and the community. Annual Paint Festival

Paint Memphis will hold its annual paint festival with over 100 artists in The Edge District on October 7 at 484 Union in the Ravine Park and throughout the Edge District. The event is free and open to the public. More information at paintmemphis.org.

Fire Prevention Week

October 9 through 14 is Fire Prevention week, a time to learn about fire safety and prevention with fun exhibits and extra activities at the Fire Museum. More information at firemuseum.com.

Witches Ride and Run 5K/10K
Supporting Junior League of Memphis
Calling all witches for a spooky, fun 5K/10K that circles through historic East Buntyn neighborhood. In addition to the traditional 5K/10K, the event will feature a 1-Mile Bike Parade and 1-Mile Fun Run. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 21 at the Junior League of Memphis’ Community Resource Center. More information at jlmemphis.org/events.

5th Annual Frayser Local Arts Festival

Join Arkwings for their 5th Annual Frayser Local Arts Fest on Saturday, October 21 from 11am-4pm at 2034 James Rd. The event features all-day performances, community art exhibits, artisan vendors, food trucks, and interactive creativity stations in The Art Yard. The event is free and open to the public. Memphis Child Advocacy Center Gala
