Cooper-Young is one of Memphis’s most historic and dynamic neighborhoods. Century-old homes surrounded by small businesses line Cooper Street from its iconic overpass to just beyond Young Avenue. The creative Midtown atmosphere offers a warm welcoming to any visitors. Every year, a gathering called the Cooper-Young Festival shares the music, art, and crafts of the many talents within the community. Entering its 32nd year, the 2019 Cooper-Young Festival was held Saturday, September 14th and did not disappoint! There were many vendors selling clothes, jewelry, food, and vintage items. This festival was an event for all ages, making it a perfect weekend adventure for the whole family. Adults strolled the streets shopping and listening to the music, and there was an area for kids to jump on bouncy houses and look at fun crafts. Not only was it a fun and friendly place to relax and enjoy the weekend, it also encapsulated the diversity and uniqueness of Memphis. Thousands of people went to the festival to celebrate the Memphis culture and artistic tradition.
