The nonprofit Memphis Child Advocacy Center works on behalf of children who have been abused and neglected. The annual gala fundraiser is a dinner with a twist: well-known volunteer servers, some celebrities and all supporters, put on an apron to wait tables raising tip money with their excellent service. It is great fun to see lawyers, bankers, television reporters, and more in a different role. These star servers had a meal before the event, which included a briefing from Paradox Catering’s Jimmy Gentry and Kellie Walker about what was being served and how to serve it. In addition to the dinner there was a silent auction, a teddy bear version of a wine pull, and dancing to the Soul Shockers. Memphiscac.org
