Volunteer Odyssey was just an idea a little over 10 years ago. It began when Sarah Petschonek volunteered at 30 different organizations over 30 days, and that idea crystallized into a nonprofit dedicated to connecting volunteers with agencies in need of volunteers: Volunteer Odyssey. And now, a decade later, thousands of Memphians have been connected to service opportunities by Volunteer Odyssey. The 10th anniversary celebration began with teams of volunteers serving at 10 different agencies in the morning and then culminated with a celebration at Crosstown Concourse where guests enjoyed food, beverages, and music. Memphis Made Brewing created a special commemorative beer called “Voluncheers,” which perfectly captured the mood of the afternoon. volunteerodyssey.com
