We are native Memphians and Rhodes alums, and our story began in 2012 when we had our first date. Over the next few years, we called Midtown Memphis our home. In 2014, we added our adorable miniature poodle Pumpernickel into the mix. Three years later, with new graduate degrees and jobs, we packed our bags and moved across the country to Seattle. We love our new city, but knew that for our wedding Memphis was the right place to celebrate.
We held our wedding on October 23, 2021, at Annesdale Mansion. Built in 1850, this location captured a piece of history and the beautiful Southern charm of Memphis. It reminded us of Mollie Fontaine Lounge, where you could often find us when we lived in Memphis enjoying a glass of wine and live music. In fact, that’s why it was so special that the owner of Mollie’s, chef Karen Carrier, and the crew at Another Roadside Attraction were able to prepare the most amazing food for our event. Rev. Elizabeth H. Doolin officiated a poignant and personal ceremony in the gardens surrounded by flowers, family, and friends. We wanted the evening to include some of our favorite things: a string quartet, a live jazz band, a poet providing guests with personalized poems, a signature cocktail named after our dog, and even a magician!
We would like to thank our guests for celebrating with us, many of whom traveled from all over the US and Canada. Special thanks to our vendors, our amazing planner, Betsy McKay with Salt Style & Events, and family: Linda Ash, David Bryan, and Dale and Vickie Grissom for supporting us and making this milestone and event so incredible.
