Diwali Celebration

Indian Community Fund for Greater Memphis

The Indian Community Fund for Greater Memphis held a Diwali Celebration recently at the Esplanade. Translating as “row of lights” Diwali is characterized by bright colors and lights and celebrates good over evil. Specifically in the case of the ICFGM, the celebration noted the many area nonprofits that received financial and volunteer support; these include Church Health, Mid-South Food Bank, Museum of Science & History, Shelby Farms, Bridges, Wolf River Conservancy, Boys & Girls Clubs, and more. The event is a much anticipated annual gathering of Indian Americans and community partners to enjoy food, music, and dancing. icfmemphis.org
