The Beginning:

Jon and I first met in February of 2015 through a mutual friend. He had recently moved back to Memphis from working in D.C and we just so happened to pick the same Midtown spot one Friday night with our friends. One month later, he asked me to have dinner at Acre, and the rest was history.

The Preparation:

We began to brainstorm what type of wedding we wanted to have that year. While we enjoyed the remainder of our ski trip, my amazing mother got to work on finding someone to help us plan the biggest day to come! We found a wedding planner we loved and began to work on all the exciting details. Mark and Sarah at The Dixon couldn’t have been more enjoyable to work with from the very first meeting. Lee and Jon with L & J Productions were a dream come true to work with and I could have met with them 10 more times just because they are so much fun! They amazed us with their talent, creative ideas, and knowledge and we could not have had a better experience with these two. Olivia at White Door Events was a huge help throughout the whole experience and played such a key role in making the reception everything we dreamed of. Every vendor we used was delightful!

The Memorable Day:

The day began at Heather Boutique where my bridesmaids and family all enjoyed mimosas and had our hair and makeup done. They were all so amazing to work with, and I highly recommend them! We headed to The Dixon where Jon and I had our first look in the garden. This was truly a magical moment for us. We owe it all to The Kenneys Photography for capturing the tears and smiles and guiding us through the whole day. Savannah Kenney played so many roles that day besides a photographer, she was a dream to spend the day with! The weather turned out beautifully for a December afternoon wedding, and the ceremony facing the garden was perfect. The ambiance at the reception was magical, with the groom’s cake being a huge hit, thanks to Cakes by Mom and Me. We danced the night away and left with a rose petal toss to a vintage white trolley with all our friends.

The Getaway:

We honeymooned over Christmas in Grand Cayman at The Marriott Seven Mile Beach. We loved it upon arrival and immediately felt so welcomed. I was so excited they had Christmas trees everywhere! We befriended several staff members who took care of us for our entire stay, even remembering our favorite drinks. We enjoyed a bio-luminescence kayak trip in the middle of the night, an excursion to Stingray City, constant snorkeling in the crystal blue waters, and a private sailing trip where Jon went from husband to captain for a few hours. We had the most fabulous dinner on Christmas Eve at Luca, and would definitely recommend it. We loved every minute of our honeymoon and can’t wait for an anniversary trip this December!
